This was an unusual day for me. I have to work every other weekend, but I don’t usually have to close. However, the department manager who closes on my weekend is on vacation, so that puts me closing. No big deal. I used to do it all the time back when I was a department manager. It certainly makes the work day go by quickly. And it was nice to have a morning to leisurely do a few things around the house before work. And sleeping in was another plus for the day.
I had another good day of eating and exercising. I ate a little over 1500 calories for the day, eating only what I planned and brought to work with me. I got a decent walk in before work, did some strength training for upper body and rode the bike for a bit. Of course, lots of walking around at work, as usual.
I took a bowl of plain yogurt with me. Then I mixed it with some fresh blackberries and just a little granola…I’m really getting into this fresh fruit and yogurt thing…and the small amount of granola adds just a little crunch…yum! For my dinner at work, I ate a veggie burger on rye bread and cantaloupe…I do love cantaloupe at this time of the year.
I did a little work outside before I went in to work today. As early as it was, I was still drenched with sweat by the time I finished…and I was only out there for about an hour. I did finally pull up my poor, bedraggled pansies…once the heat sets in, they’re finished. I put out this hot pink geranium on my front patio. Also changed the wreath on my front door. I had kind of a light pink hydrangea wreath out there…and that was perfect for spring…but spring has fled and I wanted something with a little more color. So out came the fuschia spider daisy wreath…it looks brighter out there already. It makes coming home a delight..well, it’s always a delight to come home, but you know what I mean.
So, how was your Saturday? Anything fun and exciting happen?
