I did it!

Celebration!  I am now over 50,000 words in my novel for the Camp NaNoWriMo challenge!  I’m planning to read through all of it tomorrow, then copy and paste it to have the word count validated.  How about that? I managed to do it with a few days to spare~  Is that not just about the coolest thing ever?

I keep reminding myself that there’s still a lot more work to be done before I actually have a novel in my hands, but to have managed to sit down and write over 50,000 words in 27 days is something I never imagined I could do!  (And for those of you wondering about the exact word count…it stands at 50,145 today…I understand that the total may be higher or lower when it’s validated, but still…).  Anyhow, I’m feeling kind of proud tonight…like, wow!  I really am a writer!

  2. Yes – you really area writer. I never doubted you for a second! Yay – you!

  3. Yay! Now everyone knows you’re a writer, including you! Congratulations! I like the tees they have for summer camp!

    • I forgot to mention, my writers group ordered a tee for me and surprised me with it at the next meeting following Nano, and they framed my certificate and presented it, too. What a great feeling. I was on a high for weeks after finishing. I imagine you will be, too.

      • I did print out the certificate today…will probably buy a frame at work tomorrow…I’m sure I’ll be feeling the effects of this for quite some time.

    • Thanks, Patti. I like the tees too…guess I should probably order one, huh?

  4. CONGRATS!!! I’m really happy for you that you’ve been able to do it!!! This gives me hope that I too one day will manage! haha!

  5. Congratulations!!! My first novel was 132K words and that took me several years to complete (with the bulk of it finishing in about 5 months in 2010). Great work!!!

    • Thanks! Yeah, 50,000 words isn’t quite enough for a full novel, but I’m doing the August Camp NaNo too, so may end up with enough to really get that novel published and out there after that.

  6. You go, girl!
