Sad day in Colts country

The unthinkable happened today.  The Colts have released Peyton Manning.  I (and most Colts fans) truly believed that Manning would retire from the Colts.  But it’s not to be…

Watching the announcement today, I was reminded of just what a good person Peyton Manning is…of how much he did for the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.  His tearful speech exemplified what a humble man he is.  He thanked all of the fans, the city, his team mates, and even the owner (you don’t want to hear my thoughts about the owner right now, do you?).

He sounded truly thankful, didn’t express any bitterness…I’m afraid I wouldn’t be as gracious in the same situation.  I’d be pretty angry thinking about all that I’d done and how the owner chose to repay me…ah well…I can only wish him the best of health and another Super Bowl ring wherever he may go.  He’ll be missed here in Colts country.
