The long and winding road to fitness, day 23

Am I ever glad this work day is over.  Now I am officially on vacation (yes, again…one of those use it or lose it situations and I’m not about to lose it).  I feel better already!  We went in to work early this morning (6 am) to try to figure out this lighting thing they wanted us to do, using less energy while the building is unoccupied as well as having only the necessary lights on before we open.  I’m not sure, but I think we got it.  I hope so anyhow.

I was really tired all day today, definitely didn’t get enough sleep last night.  Probably due to me being so excited about my vacation…have I mentioned that I’m on vacation now?  Anyhow, I was up and down a ladder all morning, then had to try to catch up on paperwork this afternoon.  I didn’t want all that paperwork to be piled up waiting on me when I come back from vacation (ahh…the joy of vacations, time away from work and stress, time to get a little done around the house, time to get some sleep…)  I ate fairly well, although I must admit I did eat a bag of jalapeno Cheetos from the vending machine…shame on me, right?  But I finished the day at 1700 calories, so not a disaster.  I also got in 40 minutes of cardio and a few sets of lower body strength training.  So, it was a pretty good day.

I’m planning to go for some early morning walks while I’m off work, try to get some good pictures.  I also have some appointments to take care of  Wednesday and Thursday.  Other than that, the time is mine to do with as I will.  Who knows what I’ll end up doing?  Whatever it is, I’ll fill you in as the week progresses.

When you have time off work, do you like to actually travel or do you enjoy staying at home? I don’t mind going somewhere every once in a while, but I find I need at least a few days to recover from vacation if I travel very much.  Do you come back from a trip and need some recovery time before heading back to work?
